Colors
All the essential colors in German - and how to use them as adjectives.
Colors are adjectives. When placed before a noun they must agree in gender and number. When used after a verb like 'sein' they don't change.
• Das Viereck ist braun. (The square is brown.) - no ending
• Das hellblaue Rechteck. (The light blue rectangle.) - ending added
To say LIGHT: add 'hell-' before the color. To say DARK: add 'dunkel-' before it.
